Fourth Charity Golf Event

The fourth edition of the Charity Golf Event took place on Friday 5 May. Just like in previous years, our golfing network was welcomed at the Royal Antwerp Golf Club in Kapellen. This is the oldest golf club in Belgium beautifully situated in a green area.

Around 50 golfers participated in the event this year. Participation was free, but they could also make a donation to the ICT Community for ASD Fund set up by us as part of the King Baudouin Foundation.

In contrast to the previous editions, where a raincoat was never needed, this year we had to deal with 3 heavy rain showers. Those wet conditions presented the golfers with an extra sporting challenge, but they certainly didn't spoil the fun. The temperatures were good and the sun finally even managed to peek through the clouds. So everyone was able to end the day with dry equipment.

Despite the ever-changing weather, excellent results were scored. In the scramble competition, in teams of two, the day's winners scored 46. The team in second place had 40 points and was followed by several teams with the same scores. A pretty impressive performance!

After the sporting part, the participants enjoyed a well-deserved aperitif on the golf club's beautiful terrace followed by a buffet dinner. During this dinner, the winners of the day, Kris Bogaerts and Stephan Ophoff, were presented with their awards, and Gerdy De Clercq, as Chairman of the 'ICT Community for ASD Fund' explained this initiative and its achievements.

Year after year, this is a fantastic reunion for many!
